What’s a concealer? Does every woman really need one? How can I use them so that they cover my dark circles and I look good? Relax, you’re going to look great. But first, you need to know how to use a concealer.
First, you need to choose the right color. If you have dark shadows, all you want is to conceal or hide them. So, go straight for the darkest color—in fact it should be as dark as your circles are so that it can hide the circles.
Dark shadows: Before choosing a concealer, test it over your foundation. If you can’t see it, that’s the right shade. For a natural look, apply foundation first and then top it up on the inner half of the under eye. If you have fine lines just emerging, you won’t be adding weight to the outer half and showing off more than you should hide.
Use a brush for a real natural look—besides, it gives that much more control than your fingers. Your finger will yield less pressure on your fine skin. Top up with a bit of eye cream if it looks too heavy.
For bags under your eyes and puffiness: Puffiness and bags are harder to conceal. Use a brush after applying foundation and paint a light concealer shade into the dip under the bag. If your concealer contains light-diffusing particles, it really helps as heavy concealer will only worsen your bags.
Color corrector: If you use a color corrector, use very, very little and then apply foundation. After it sets, apply just a little more of the color corrector for that natural look.
If you don’t use a color corrector, apply your foundation as usual. Then, use dried concealer over the foundation in light strokes. Do this by patting the concealer onto the upraised portion of your palm until it is almost dry and then apply it on your face. After this, reapply a little bit of foundation as before.
If you need to cover redness, conceal it in layers. After you;ve got the results you wanted, rub your hands fast until you feel the heat between your palms and press them over your cheeks for just five seconds.
So, from this you can see that doing your own makeup is not such a tough task. With good quality products and a little practice, you can really look your best.
